Meet Our Team

Andy

Hi, I’m Andrew Rettke — a former high school teacher and coach turned general contractor, business owner, and proud Plano resident. My journey into construction wasn’t a straight line, but it’s been driven by the same core value that guided me in the classroom: take care of people, and the rest will follow.

For over a decade, I’ve been helping homeowners, businesses, and organizations bring their projects to life — from small repairs to large-scale remodels and new builds. Before that, I spent seven years as a teacher (five in Plano ISD), where I learned the importance of communication, integrity, and building trust — skills that I now bring to every client relationship.

I work with a talented network of subcontractors and a committed team who share my “no shady work” philosophy. We believe in clear communication, fair pricing, and delivering high-quality results that last. Whether we’re painting a school, remodeling a bathroom, or managing a complex insurance restoration, we approach each project with the same level of care as if it were our own home.

When I’m not on a job site or meeting with clients, I’m spending time coaching wrestling, hunting, spending time with my wife, or tackling construction projects around my own home. I’ve called this community home since 2000, and am always looking for ways to give back, whether it’s helping a neighbor, supporting local events, or simply being there for my community.
My Mission: Build trust through craftsmanship, honesty, and service.

Our Promise: We’ll treat your project like it’s ours — no shortcuts, no surprises, just quality you can count on.

Austin

Hi, I am Austin Harrell, and for the past five years I’ve been proud to call DFW home. Construction has been part of my life since college, when I worked with a general contractor while earning my law degree. After school I decided on a change of pace and spent three years as a licensed property insurance adjustor.

My background in construction combined with my law expertise, gives me a deep understanding of contracts, claims, and the importance of protecting homeowners’ best interests.

Over time, I realized I didn’t want to stay behind a desk in endless meetings. I saw how valuable my skills could be in construction management. Homeowners often need someone they can trust to navigate the process, avoid pitfalls, and make sure their investment is protected. That realization is what led me to co-found Sonova Construction. Today, I get to combine my background in insurance and law with my passion for working directly with people, helping them bring their vision for their home to life.

As a project manager and sales professional, I focus on guiding clients through every step of the process, from the first conversation to the finished project. I know how overwhelming construction can feel, especially for first-time homeowners, and I see my role as making that experience clear, smooth, and ultimately exciting.
Outside of work, I enjoy watching sports, golfing, and being active in my church community. I also had the privilege of playing college football as a running back for Illinois Wesleyan University, an experience that taught me the importance of teamwork and perseverance, qualities I bring into every project.
At Sonova, my goal is simple: to protect clients, earn their trust, and deliver results that turn their dreams into reality.

John

John Khyll Jabel
I am John Khyll Jabel. I’ve been proud to call the Plano area home for the past six years, and in that time I’ve built a life here centered around the things that have always been instilled in me.

Hard work, family, and connection to the land. My background is in landscaping, and it’s a craft I’ve dedicated myself to mastering. I believe that the outdoor spaces around a home deserve just as much care and artistry as what’s inside, and I bring that mindset to every project I take on.

Though I’m newer to the broader construction world, the work ethic I developed over years of landscaping, and long before that on the wrestling mat, has prepared me well. I’m committed to being as productive and helpful as possible to every customer and crew member I work alongside.

I’m genuinely excited about what’s ahead: growing this side of Sonova’s business and putting my knowledge to work designing landscape spaces that homeowners will love for years to come.

When I’m not working, you’ll find me outsi

Katy

My name is Katy Collins and I have lived in the Plano area for almost 15 years. I love it here. I have worked and volunteered for Plano ISD as well as raised two wonderful young men through the school system.

Although I was raised around contractors, I came to Sonova from a background working in administration and education.

Working many roles throughout my career allows me to lean in and help Sonova Construction, our team members, field crews, and most importantly, our customers, in whatever way they need.

Being a local and family run business with deep ties to the community is important to me. I take pride in doing a job well, and that includes the behind the scenes work of administration.

I try to stay just as busy outside of work. If I am not at the pickleball courts or on my kayak, you can usually catch me at a concert, in the kitchen, or on a plane, always with friends and family around.

Deionte McMurray

Hi, I am Deionte McMurray, but my friends call me Noodles or McMurray. I have been in the DFW area for six years and in construction for over three, so I’ve had time to find my footing and figure out what I love about this work. Before Sonova, I spent years in education as a special education paraprofessional, and that experience shaped how I show up for people every day. Learning to meet people where they are, advocate for them, and communicate clearly are skills I carry into every project and every customer conversation.

Interior remodels and backyard transformations are where I really get excited. There is something satisfying about taking a space that isn’t working and turning it into something a family can actually enjoy.

I was taught to treat everyone the same, from the janitor to the CEO. Everyone deserves respect and a straight answer, and that’s what you’ll get from me. My close friends might tell you I’m a little meaner to them, but that’s just how you know we’re tight.

I come from a big family. Five siblings, and I’m close with every single one of them. That kind of upbringing teaches you a lot about teamwork, communication, and holding your own.

Outside of work, coaching rugby is my thing. I work with athletes from 12U all the way up to U23s, and I played collegiate rugby myself, so the sport has been a big part of my life for a long time. One thing you should know about me: I am completely allergic to the cold, so you’ll find me thriving in a Texas summer and dramatically suffering through anything below 60 degrees.
